Research Summary
My primary research interest is how above and below ground interactions affect ecosystem functions such as carbon and nutrient cycling. I am particularly interested in how plant and microbial community traits, diversity and spatial variation affect these functions.
I currently work in four systems to answer questions related to these potential drivers of carbon and nutrient cycling – peatland bog and grasslands in the UK, and temperate forest and grassland in New Zealand.
